The ECN Foundation has participated in the 2026 International Patriotic Pact Organization Forum (Autumn), held at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), Kenya, on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The one-day forum coincided with the International Day of Peace and brought together civil society representatives and other stakeholders to discuss the role of patriotism, peace and responsible national development in an increasingly globalised world.
The event also served as the official in-person signing window for the International Patriotic Pact, a civil society document designed to establish moral boundaries and principles for national development within the context of globalisation.
Representing the ECN Foundation at the forum was its National Coordinator, Chioma Okereafor, who joined other participants from different backgrounds at the international gathering.
The forum provided an opportunity for participating organisations to engage in conversations around peace, patriotism, social responsibility and sustainable development, while highlighting the importance of shared values in addressing challenges facing societies.
The hosting of the event at UNON in Nairobi also underscored the international dimension of the initiative and its emphasis on cooperation among civil society actors.
The International Patriotic Pact is positioned as a civil society initiative seeking to promote ethical standards and responsible conduct in national development while recognising the realities of an interconnected world.
